I have always believed in the American Dream but we Americans really need to be awakened from our dream world. I grew up believing, “Leave it to Beaver” was a good idea and Andy Griffith’s Mayberry was a real place-I lived there! But, I’m sure you’ve noticed things have changed quite a bit over the last several years.
Samuel Adams once wrote, “If ever the Time should come, when vain & aspiring Men shall possess the highest Seats in Government, our Country will stand in Need of its experienced Patriots to prevent its Ruin.” My friends, its time to ride through the streets to wake up the Patriots!
We are supposed to be a nation where the government is “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Yet every poll shows “this rogue government of sneaks and traitors seems to relish doing the opposite of the will of the people. It is a government of itself, by itself, and for itself, run by lobbyists.” (M. Savage) What? Say it ain’t so!
We need a revival. Not just a shallow conversion to beef up statistics of evangelist, but a revival of deep spirituality. We need repentance, healing and turning our hearts to God again. Christianity and its values should be embraced once again as foundation of our National Identity.
Nationalism, also an ideology under attack by the Liberal Media, is simply love of one’s country & its national identity. I have loved our identity… growing up. Americans were heroes, the ones always sacrificing their own safety to come to the rescue of the downtrodden. Not so much these days. We have grown soft. We have fallen into a junk food, media-injected narcotized stupor.
America’s national identity has always been built around personal freedom. Our borders, language, & culture are the elements out of which that national identity is formed. We are being assaulted on all fronts not by a foreign enemy, but friendly fire within our own government and media.
I don’t know really if help is emerging in the coming election. I sincerely hope a politician will emerge who will once again provide strong leadership and a moral compass for our nation left adrift. Unfortunately, The lyrics from this song from the 70’s come to mind. “Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, Stuck in the middle with you.”
We may feel stuck. But, being the incurable optimist I am, I do believe we can turn this nation around. Bottom line? I think we may need another American Revolution. This revolution will come but first, it’s time to wake up the Patriots!
